Autumn Leaves are More Glowing than the blooming Flowers in spring…

I know..a few may have just thought..Is it ha??!!..and not to forget a few others may have just pass this remarks..why bother to talk about ageing when we are still young and vibrant..well, wise man said..’only wise people would  prepare themselves for the later life’..and i had this opportunity seeing the calligraphic writing of one of the oldest man in our neighboring country..at age of 90+ his calligraphic writing is still so beautiful and perfect..he wrote ‘ THE AUTUMN LEAVES ARE MORE RADIANT AND GLOWING THAN THE BLOOMING FLOWERS IN SPRING’…hmmm ..what does that mean?…It means the older ages is more fruitful and prosperous than the younger ages..if only we make a well- plan journey towards it.

By writing this am not contradicting my previous post..entitiled ‘are you ageing before time’…what i am proposing here is for us to feel young and vibrant and at the same time preparing ourselves gracefully moving towards another phase of our lives…so that there wont be any burden of guilt and regret of  ”why dont i do this or that when i was young?”..therefore, here i am..am not regretting anymore..every step is a milestone  towards a more fruitful life..and of course in that journey a few other people may also have to sacrifice..and i thank them for their patience and understanding..especially my dearest son Tariq..ummi always love you..all the best for tomorrow semester examination….my prayer and best wishes will always be with you.

Bright Shining Stars…

Many people ask me why i chose to work with the elderly people?.well it is hard for me to list down the reasons..somehow i think i dont need a reason. What important for me is satisfaction. I found satisfaction working with the elderly people, thats the answer. Working with them really thought me to be soft spoken, patience and compassionate.  Compassion….thats the feeling!!

In the day time we were brightened by the sunlights. When the nights come, we tend to look at the sky to look for the bright stars.. Do we realize that those stars had actually burnt out thousand and millions years ago.Yet, there are still beautiful and shine us through the night. Our elderly people are like the stars, though they have burnt out and some may have become demented, they still shine through our heart.

Our elderly parents are the source of our happiness. We may be busy with our day to day work, forgetting about them. Yet they never forget about us, infact, continuosly praying for us. Hence we shine through our life. During my time working with the elderly people, i found myself so fortunate to be able to’ learn’ alot, not only from my ‘guru’ but also from our ‘golden’ citizens and the way their children treated them.

One of many things i discovered,  if we truely and sincerely love someone, even dementia could not defeat us that fast. We could forget everyone else even ourselve but not the person whom we truely love, how amazing our emotion plays its role in our memory function… The person may finally be forgotten, but hardly faded. So if we have anyone to love, love them deeply and sincerely as who knows if we become demented(nau’zubillah), we will not feel lonely as there are still people whom we could recognise  in the midst of  perceived strangers…..
